An e-library was launched at Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday. Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman said the new project has successfully built a network between the central bank library and other libraries of the country.
He said the size of Bangladesh economy is about $210 billion which will be doubled in the next five years as the country’s economy is growing in a fast pace.
The governor hoped that the central bank’s e-library would help build a greater connection with the world’s famous libraries.
“This e-library of the central bank will be the centre point of study for researchers, bankers, readers in the banking sector in near future,” he told the launching function at the Bangladesh Bank.
Deputy Governor Nazneen Sultana said the central bank has advanced to a new phase of digitisation with the launching of the e-library which took three years to complete the project.
The function was also addressed by other deputy governors and members of the Bangladesh Bank governing body.
